Research & Curriculum

Jip obtained her bachelor’s degree in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences at Leiden University. During her study she developed a strong interest in immunology, particularly in auto-immune responses. As part of her minor, Jip followed the elective module Disease, Signaling and Drug targets in which she deepened her understanding of cellular signaling responses in diseases processes. Her bachelor’s thesis was conducted at the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR). She worked on a novel zebrafish model for ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic inflammatory rheumatoid disorder. Currently, she is pursuing her master’s in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Division of Biotherapeutics. Within the Vascular Research Group, Jip focusses on the effect of anti-PD-L1 therapy on atherosclerosis and vein graft disease.
