Fardin obtained her bachelor’s diploma in Biology and Medical Laboratory research at Avans University of applied sciences in Breda. She specialized in Biotechnology and completed a minor in Bioinformatics. During her bachelor, she took part in several projects such as the optimization of methyltransferase activity assays and modification of Dot1 in Saccharomyces cereviciae, a project in collaboration with the Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek hospital. She wrote her thesis about the effects of charged residues on the membrane insertion of transmembrane proteins, conducted at the University of Stockholm.
Currently, she is doing a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Leiden. Under supervision of Vincent Sier and dr. Margreet de Vries, she is researching the role of PCSK9 on vein graft composition.
