During her Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences at Leiden University, Britt became interested and gained knowledge in the fields of Immunology and Atherosclerosis. For her Minor she followed the elective module Disease, Signaling and Drug Targets, which focused on dissection of cellular signaling responses in disease and drug safety. At the end of the Bachelor’s, Britt did her thesis project within the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR) at the research group Aging and Immunity under Prof. Amanda Foks. Currently she is doing a Master’s in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences as a follow up to the Bachelor’s. Her project focuses on the application of RhoGEF Trio in the reduction of leakiness by neovessels in atherosclerotic plaques.
